In his first two fights, he defeated Kumar Kakaraya (India) and Shalkar Aykinbaya (Kazakhstan). In today’s final encounter, He took on his Uzbekistani opponent Sulaymon Latipov. The Azerbaijani boxer won the all three rounds, giving no chance to the opponent. Winning the gold medal, Huseynov earned our national team the 3rd gold medal.

Note that, the Azerbaijani team had gained 9 medals at this tournament, and the number changed to 10 on the last day of the games.
