Azerbaijani wrestlers have claimed a clutch of nine medals, including three golds at the International Junior Champions Tournament held in Izmir, Turkey.
On the first day of the tournament, Ragnetta Gurbanzade and Solmaz Hashimzada won gold and bronze medals in the women`s 67 kg and 55kg weight categories respectively.
In the Greco-Roman event, Ruhin Mikayilov climbed on to the winner`s rostrum in the 66 kg division, while Ramiz Mammadov earned his team bronze in the 55 kg.
The second day of the tournament saw Azerbaijan add two silvers and one bronze to their medal haul.
The silver medals were claimed by Almaz Ismayilova and Elmira Gambarova in the women`s 51kg and 63kg classes respectively, while silver was taken by Sabira Aliyeva in the women`s 72kg.
In the Greco-Roman event, Islam Abbasov beat all his rivals to take gold in the 84 kg class, while Hajimurad Chopsiyev took bronze in the 120 kg.
According to the total medal counts, Azerbaijani female wrestlers ranked 3rd after Turkey and Kazakhstan.
