SOCAR to pay compensation to all families of Azerbaijani oilmen today

The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) today is to allocate a lump-sum financial aid in the amount of 15,000 manats to all the families of the oilmen, both the dead and missing, after a platform fire in the Caspian Sea, the Company’s press service said.

The Company executives have already met with the family members and transferred the money to their bank accounts.

As earlier reported, SOCAR has started compensation payments since December 24.

The Azneft PU is also involved in the compensation of lump-sum financial aid and the families of 80-90 percent of the dead and missing oilmen were provided so far. Providing the rest families is planned to be realized today.

As many as 33 people were rescued in an ensuing large-scale operation. The bodies of seven killed were retrieved, while 23 oil workers are still listed as missing./trend/
